וַיֹּ֤אמֶר הַפְּלִשְׁתִּי֙ אֶל־דָּוִ֔ד הֲכֶ֣לֶב אָנֹ֔כִי כִּֽי־אַתָּ֥ה בָֽא־אֵלַ֖י בַּמַּקְל֑וֹת וַיְקַלֵּ֧ל הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֛י אֶת־דָּוִ֖ד בֵּאלֹהָֽיו׃
Sinabi ng Filisteo kay David: “Aso ba ako, at lumalapit ka sa akin na may dalang mga tungkod?” At isinumpa ng Filisteo si David sa pamamagitan ng kanyang mga diyos.

Dovid said to Shaul, "While your servant was a shepherd for his father's sheep, the lion came with a bear and carried off a sheep from the flock.
I Samuel
I went after it, struck it down, and saved [the sheep] from its mouth; then it attacked me, but I grabbed onto its beard and struck it and killed it.
I Samuel
Even the lion and the bear your servant has killed; and this uncircumcised Philistine shall become like one of them, for he has insulted the battalions of the Living God."
